Not a Lobster, a Liebster!

A  fellow blogger,  Miss Wandering Jew (such a great name!), nominated me for a Liebster Award.  Not lobster, but Liebster, which rhymes with Heebster.  And since I’m too old to be a hipster and too squeamish to be a mobster or a gangster (and not hairy or tall enough to be a monster), it’s kind of fun to have a designation ending in -ster.

I’m not sure how it started, but this not-Lobster Award seems to be a fun way to recognize blogs who haven’t quite hit it big, or even hit it medium, or are still rather microscopic.  Receiving this nomination was like having someone toss me a colorful beach ball, inviting me to play in the sand as the surf tickles our toes.  My super serious self tried to catch and deflate it, muttering darkly about how I should slather on more sunscreen and write something deep, but my spontaneous self grabbed the ball and has decided to be in the game.

There’s a few easy conditions you must satisfy if you choose to accept your Liebster Award…

  1. Choose five bloggers with fewer than 200 followers, post on their blogs to let them know you’ve nominated them, and link to them within your blog.
  2. Link back to the blogger who nominated you within your blog.
  3. Announce your fabulousness and display your glory!

So here are my five blogs:

Panuelo Girl

Can You Amazing

Literally Denise

Mimi Graney

Ken Lutes

Happy reading!

  3. Congratulations, Ilona! I love your blog, as well as the idea behind the Leibster. So cool! Thanks for the nomination. I’ll be happily choosing my own nominees soon. 😉
